Chinese painter Hengjin Aisin Gioro is a descendant of the Qing imperial family and was taught painting according to the family’s traditional methods. In her “Painting practices of the Qing Aisin Gioro imperial family” workshop, students will have the opportunity to learn from Hengjin how to paint with pigment and ink on paper and silk in the “elaborate style” (gongbi 工笔), the “boneless method” (mogu 没骨) and in “freehand sketching” (xieyi 写意). At the end of the class your will create your own painted fan.
